A scrapbook of material kept by O'Connor relating to the Irish in Australia, including the Irish National League. The scrapbook appears to have been compiled after his death by his sister, Mrs M. J. Fitzpatrick. It contains letters to O'Connor, photographs, programs, newscuttings, pamphlets and ephemera. Correspondents include Charles Parnell, John and William Redmond, Cardinal Moran (Archbishop of Sydney c1910) and Bede Vaughan (Archbishop of Sydney c1880).

O'Connor was born in Ireland in 1839 and came to Australia at the age of 2 with his parents. He was educated by the Christian Brothers and at Sydney College, after which he was apprenticed to a wood engraver and printer. Although he had a successful career as a printer, he was involved in a number of failed attempts at publishing newspers, which led to him being declared a bankrupt.
